What documents or items must I bring to my Deed Poll appointment at Loh Eben Ong LLP? #
To execute your Deed Poll at our office, you must bring the original documents required for identity verification and legal compliance. Please refer to the applicable category below:
🔹 For Adults (Aged 21 and Above) #
Please bring:
- ✅ NRIC or Singapore Passport
- ✅ If you are not a Singapore citizen: Foreign passport and any immigration passes (e.g. Work Pass, PR card)
- ✅ Names in non-English characters (if applicable), such as:
- Chinese (中文)
- Tamil (தமிழ்)
- Arabic (العربية)
- Hindi or other Indian scripts
Non-English characters should be submitted during online submission or emailed to us in editable format (e.g. Microsoft Word or plain text). This ensures we can copy and paste the characters accurately into your Deed Poll. Please avoid sending screenshots or handwritten versions
🔹 For Minors (Below 21 Years Old) #
The Deed Poll must be signed by both parents, unless exceptions apply (e.g. court order, death of one parent).
Please bring:
- ✅ Child’s Birth Certificate
- ✅ Child’s NRIC or Singapore Passport (if issued)
- ✅ Both Parents’ NRICs or Passports
- ✅ If applicable:
- Court order authorising one parent to change the child’s name alone
- Death certificate if one parent is deceased
- ✅ Names in non-English characters (if applicable), such as:
- Chinese (中文)
- Tamil (தமிழ்)
- Arabic (العربية)
- Hindi or other Indian scripts

⚠️ Sole custody is not sufficient. ICA generally requires both parents to sign the Deed Poll unless a valid exception applies.

❌ What Not to Bring #
