If you wish to engage our law firm for resealing of a Malaysian Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration (collectively, Foreign Grant), please note our requirements of documents.
Grant of Probate #
- original Grant of Probate or the certified true copy (CTC) by the issuing Malaysian Court. If the CTC is by the Court, please ensure the Court’s rubber stamp is in the English language, ie. without any Malay word. We also require the English translation of the original Grant of Probate or the CTC (as the case may be) by the Court, ie. English translation done by the Court.
- original Will or the certified true copy (CTC) by the Court safekeeping the original Will. If the CTC of the Will is by the Court, please ensure the Court’s rubber stamp is in English language, ie. without Malay word. We also require the English translation of the original Will or the CTC (as the case may be) by the Court, ie. English translation done by the Court..
- copy of the death certificate.
- copy of the deceased’s identity card.
- copy of the executor’s identity card and/or passport.
Grant of Letters of Administration #
- original Grant of Letters of Administration (LA) or the certified true copy (CTC) by the issuing Court. If the CTC of the LA is by the Court, please ensure the Court’s rubber stamp is in English language, ie. without any Malay word. We also require the English translation of the original LA or the CTC (as the case may be) by the Court, ie. English translation done by the Court.
- list of beneficiaries, including their full names, ID nos., their relationship to the deceased, their date of birth, their addresses, and copies of their identity documents.
- copy of the death certificate.
- copy of the deceased’s identity card.
- copy of the administrator’s identity card and/or passport.
Please note that notwithstanding the above, the Court may request for additional documents, or give further directions in respect of submitted documents.
